Lot 60

1797 C-2 R3 Centered Head PCGS graded F12. Slightly glossy dark steel brown and chocolate with slightly lighter steel brown toning covering the devices. The two-tone appearance helps accent the details and enhances the eye appeal. The surfaces are covered with extremely faint roughness that dulls the gloss, but the planchet appears nice and smooth to the unaided eye. No verdigris, and the only mark is a very light, thin scuff into the field from the hair under the cap, and this mark barely alters the toning. The date is strong and the legends are complete except for the usual weakness at ICA and HALF CENT. Our grade is net VG8.
Estimated Value $600-UP.

Realized $949
