Goldberg Coins and Collectibles

Sale 65

Lot 2185

1907. High relief, Roman numerals, wire rim. PCGS graded AU-55. Quite pleasing for the given grade. In an old green holder. A sharply struck example, this has a thin wire-edge around the wide flat border. The edge was caused by metal being squeezed into the junction between the coinage die and die collar. Mintage of the High Relief coins totaled 11,250 struck in November and December, 1907. Wire-edge examples are much more more readily found than those with flat rim, with an approximate three to one ratio. Lustrous. Attractive (PCGS # 9135) .
Estimated Value $9,000 - 10,000.

Realized $16,100
