Lot 642

1855 N-9 R1 Italic 55 Knob on Ear MS62+. Glossy medium brown with 10% of the mint red remaining on the obverse, 20% on the reverse. Choice except for a thin arc of darker toning from the bust tip to the hair just below the ear to the bottom of the hairbun. Otherwise this cent is very attractive with satiny luster covering the fields. M-LDS, die state f. The knob break at the top of the ear is strong, and the branch under the Y is clearly raised above the surrounding area. Removed from a PCGS slab graded MS64BN (PCGS label included). DWH #2348.
Estimated Value $500-UP.
