1883 Hawaiian Dollar. NGC graded AU Details, improperly cleaned. Loaded with mint luster and sharply made. Hawaii issued just this single silver dollar date in 1883. It bears the likeness of King Kalakaua (reigned 1874-91). The reverse has the complete Coat of Arms of Hawaii including ermine mantel. The motto UA MAU KE EA O KA AINA I KA PONO roughly translates as THE LIFE OF THE LAND IS PRESERVED IN RIGHTEOUSNESS. Denomination AKAHI DALA (ONE DOLLAR) (PCGS # 10995) .
