1927 Vermont Half Dollar. PCGS graded MS-65. Nice lustrous fields on this Gem. Obverse with a wigged bust of Ira Allen who is labeled FOUNDER OF VERMONT. Allen played a prominent role in the Provincial Conventions of 1775-77 leading to the Vermonters' declaring the area an independent Republic in 1778 (PCGS # 9401) .
