1938-D Liberty Walking Half Dollar. PCGS graded MS-65. A lovely gem Walker. 491,600 minted of which only 30,000 are estimated to have survived according to experts who have studied this very attractive series of half dollar coins struck in the first half of the last century. 1938-D has long been a favorite with collectors. There is a remarkable photograph still in existence that shows the entire coinage of 1938-D half dollars in Mint-sealed canvas bags on a wheeled dolly at the Denver Mint before being distributed to banks that year!
