Lot 1108

1901 Barber Half Dollar. PCGS graded Proof 67. Only 813 Proofs issued. Lovely blue, green, and golden toning. Every once in a while, we are see a coin whose beauty is such that trying to describe it bankrupts the vocabulary. This is such a coin, although for the sake of completion in this catalog we will make an attempt to describe it a manner that provides at least a glimpse into the awe-inspiring eye appeal of this Proof Barber Half. Both sides are toned in vivid cobalt-blue and varying other colors that yield to underlying satin frost from the central devices. Deeply mirrored in finish, the fields form a splendid foundation for the colors. Further, there is not a single grade-limiting blemish, and the validity of the Proof-67 rating is confirmed. A coin that is worthy of a premium-quality bid. Pop 5; 2 finer in 68 (PCGS # 6548) .
Estimated Value $6,000 - 7,000.

Realized $7,475
