1939-S Mercury Dime. PCGS graded MS-68. A super gem with lovely raianbow toning near the edges on both sides. We have no reluctance against recommending a strong bid on this spectacular 1939-S Mercury Dime. Modern pedants, observing the obvious fact Liberty is no Mercury in this rendition (the Roman god Mercury has wings on the heels of his sandals, not on his cap), they prefer call this by the sterile name Winged Liberty head dime, but we'll stick to the charm and tradition of American numismatics and say it is a downright gorgeous Mercury dime! (PCGS # 5020) .
