1925 Norse Medal. Thick. PCGS graded MS-65. A blast white gem with outstanding detail. Designed by James Earle Fraser, this Commemorative silver medal was authorized by Congress for sale at the 1925 Norse-American Centennial. Celebrations were held at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds to mark the 100th anniversary of the arrival of the ship Restaurationen in New York on October 9, 1825 -- the first organized attempt to bring settlers from Norway to the Americas (PCGS # 9450) .
