Lot 1813

N/D (1852/4) Quarter Dollar Round. Breen and Gillio-222. Rarity 2. PCGS graded MS-64. Old Green Holder. Lightly toned with ample prooflike surface offsetting the frosted device. These small-head rounds by Nouizillet's firm continue the fine workmanship seen on the octagonal pieces. The mint struck round quarter dollars in 1852-56. BG-222 has 12 obverse stars, with one opposite the point of the bust. Pop 102; 16 finer, 14 in 65, 2 in 66 (PCGS # 10407) .
