1916-S $20 St. Gaudens. PCGS graded MS-65. A nice frosty coin, just booming with satiny sparkle from the dies. A gorgeous Gem! The Great War then in progress (1914-18) caused major stress in the gold markets even in America which was thousands of miles from the action. Coinage of the $20 denomination ceased after the 796,000 twenties were made, and wasn't to pick up again until 1920. Pop 1,062; 124 finer in 66 (PCGS # 9169) .
Estimated Value $2,000 - 2,200.

Realized $2,243
