1883 Hawaiian Ten Cents. PCGS graded MS-63. Well struck and toned. Housed in an old green holder. The motto on the back translates into English as "The life of the land is perpetuated in righteousness." It is today the State motto of Hawaii. The dies for the 1883 Kalakaua coinage were made by Charles Barber at Philadelphia before being sent to the San Francisco Mint where the coins were struck using the same weights and fineness as United States coins (PCGS # 10979) .
