Lot 4292

1936 Wisconsin Half Dollar. NGC graded MS-67. Star. CAC Approved. Soft natural pinkish pastel toning on both sides. The beautiful concatenation of colorful effects provides enjoyment beyond belief when one considers that most survivors are bright silvery or, when toned, lack the necessary pizzazz. It is easy to see this piece was delivered a hard blow by the dies, as well, since the coin seems to have been set in the equipment precisely to impart the requisite force. The hand with the pick is hovering above a pile of lead ore, lead being one of Wisconsin's chief mineral resources. Pop 13; 16 finer, 11 in 68, 5 in 68 star (PCGS # 9447) .
Estimated Value $1,250 - 1,500.

Realized $1,208
