Lot 2525

1911 $10 Indian. PCGS graded MS-65 CAC Verified. Old green holder. Rich shades of golden toning. Has a great look. A lovely coin that should be in a MS-66 holder. The design of the With Motto Indian tens [1908-33] is by Charles E. Barber, after Augustus Saint-Gaudens. Aside from the addition of the motto, the surface texture is slightly more satiny and the main devices crisper in their interpretation of Saint-Gaudens' theme. The striking quality is improved over the No Motto pieces.

Coins dated 1908-11 have 46 stars on edge as before; 1912-33, 48 stars, the extra two being added to honor the admission of Arizona and New Mexico. Edges continued to be imparted by segmented (tripartite) collars. Pop 53; 19 in 66; 8 in 67. (PCGS # 8868) .
Estimated Value $7,000 - 7,500.

Realized $9,488
