Lot 2216

1919-S Liberty Walking Half Dollar. PCGS graded MS-64 CAC Verified. A nice white coin. A formidable coin that boasts a much better than average strike on Liberty and flashy white luster from top to bottom. Long known as one of the crucial dates in the series, the 1919-S is rarely seen with a 100% full strike; worse, it costs a king's ransom in gem condition. To locate a near gem MS64 that is well struck and exceedingly beautiful like the coin in this lot is something we could go on about. Further, this is the type of coin a buyer will want to use as a standard-bearer for others in his collection: Frosty luster in the fields and untoned with full satin around the periphery, on top of the devices. A couple of tiny marks are found with the aid of a glass on one of the long wing feathers in the eagle's plumage. But search where you will, not other distinguishing marks are present, nor are there things like tarnish or toning spots, the best of conditions. Pop 57; 49 finer; 38 in 65; 11 in 66. (PCGS # 6579) .
Estimated Value $8,000 - 8,500.

Realized $10,925
