Lot 1027

1794 S-19b R4 Head of 1793. VG-10. Sharpness F15 or slightly better, especially on the reverse, but there are a half dozen light rim bruises on both sides and traces of very fine roughness on the reverse. Both sides also display microscopic contact marks, but it takes a strong glass to see them. Mostly glossy chocolate and olive brown with lighter highpoints. A splash of darker chocolate toning is located in the center of the portrait and a small swipe of reddish chocolate shows in the field at the bottom of the cap. The date is clear and the legends are clear except for AMERICA, which was weakly struck. The Head of 1793 portrait is strong.
Estimated Value $2,000 - 3,000.

Realized $2,300
