Lot 3344

1914 $5 Indian. PCGS graded MS-63. Old green holder. Light gold toning. A vibrant coin soaking up mint glow on gold surfaces with nothing to censor it from its Choice grade. 1914 is the year Henry Ford, of the Ford motor car company, shocked his competitors by lifting the daily wage rate for an assemblyline worker to $5 per day from $4 (and unheard-of amount). Bear in mind, too, there were no state or federal income taxes to pay for the average worker back then. Imagine, too, getting one of these 1914 half eagles in your pay envelope back then! (PCGS # 8527) .
Estimated Value $2,000 - 2,200.

Realized $2,645
