1871 Shield Nickel. NGC graded Proof 67 Cameo. Star. A highly lustrous Superb Gem Proof with brilliant surface on both sides, all of which is underpinned by strong satin freshness on the shield and other devices. Struck from typically-sharp Proof dies that imported a needle-sharp relief, especially at the shield stripes and leaves. Scarce. Approximately 960 Proofs struck. Pop 3; none finer (PCGS # 3825) .
