1883 Nickel Three Cents. PCGS graded Proof 65. A brilliant untoned gem housed in a first generation holder. (Several callers have asked about the three little dimples pictured on the rim on some of the photographs; these are from the plastic restraining tabs on the PCGS holder to keep the coin from jiggling, and are not on the coins themselves.) Only 6,609 proofs struck (PCGS # 3779) .
