Lot 1711

1869 $20 Liberty. PCGS graded MS-61. Nice and frosty with the usual assortment of light abrasions associated with this grade. Here is a very scarce type and a date for the collector to find in Mint condition. The surfaces are typical for the issue as virtually every double eagle issued in 1869 was transferred several times between banks. They are nearly always found baggy or in circulated condition. Note the detail, however, of Liberty's hair and the coronet. Importantly, the strike is fairly sharp on the eagle as well, adding yet another positive feature. Pop 8; 13 finer (PCGS # 8955) .
Estimated Value $5,000 - 5,500.

Realized $7,763
