1911-D $20 St. Gaudens. PCGS graded MS-65. Golden orange. A resplendent Gem. This is one of our favorite years in the series, and collectors who have made the introduction to a 1911-D or 1911-S will enjoy its velvety textured luster all the more. Yet, where or in what circumstances it avoided heavy handling can only be guessed at. For the coin is a full-fledged MS65 with leanings toward an even higher grade (PCGS # 9158) .
