1877 $10 Liberty. PCGS graded MS-61. A needle sharp strike with flashy proof-like surfaces. Has the look of a slightly impaired Proof. The 1877 is one of numerous key condition rarities in the long-lived Liberty $10 series. Very few were originally produced, only a handful of mint states are known. This sharply impressed, crisply detailed representative exhibits wonderful prooflike mirrors common to low mintage gold pieces of the era. Both sides are richly endowed with orange-gold hues plus have frosty texture on the devices that thins to vivid prooflike brightness in the field. There are far fewer than normal small abrasions for the MS61 level of preservation. While sometimes overshadowed by the 1875 P-mint Eagle rarity, this 1877 coin is no less of a highlight that represents an important bidding opportunity for the astute specialist. Only 797 minted with only 2 mint state examples currently known (PCGS MS-60 and this example). The finest graded business strike in existance. Pop 1 none finer. (PCGS # 8677) .
Estimated Value $25,000 - 27,000.

Realized $42,550
