Lot 1476

1908-O Barber Half Dollar. PCGS graded MS-67. Old green holder. This delightful gem, among the finest ever seen, is set in PCGS holder 05205410. A satiny smooth gem with rolling cartwheel luster that supports a wealth of impressive "old silver" iridescent gray toning on both sides. Nicely struck with just a faint area of striking weakness here and there on the reverse eagle, primarily where the shield overlaps the right wing (as the viewer sees it); this particular specimen is much sharper than typically found on a half dollar made at New Orleans. A "find" for any specialized collection of Barber half dollars. Pop 12, none finer (PCGS # 6514) .
Estimated Value $8,000 - 9,000.

Realized $8,913
