Lot 2209

1874-CC $10 Liberty. PCGS graded AU-53. Whereas 1875-CC tends to be weakly struck, the prior year's coinage, especially the $10 Eagle, is, as a rule, the exemplar of sharpness. As viewed here, either under a loupe or by means of the supplied photographs, it is plainly evident that the stars are full, Liberty's hair complete, and the eagle, always a source of problem with this mint's coinage, is as sharp as can be. With luster present in and around the devices, the grade is exact. With eye-appeal that won't quit, this coin's value to the collector is locked in stone for all eternity. We encourage a big bid. Pop 2; 8 finer; 6 in 55; 1 in 58; 1 in 63. (PCGS # 8670) .
Estimated Value $10,000 - 12,000.

Realized $12,650
