1909-O $5 Indian. PCGS graded MS-62. Popular key date. The 1909-O is the rarity in the Indian Half Eagle series. Only 34,200 pieces were struck, the smallest mintage in the series. It is also scarce with About Uncirculated pieces very elusive and choice Mint State coins such as this rare to extremely rare. This key issue is both prone to counterfeiting and overgrading, making the acquisition of a certified MS62 a necessity for serious gold specialists. This is a well struck example that has lovely warm golden surfaces. For an MS62, this piece is certainly cleaner than what one might expect, with the only noticeable abrasion being a very shallow hairline in the upper right reverse field. Outstanding quality. Pop 18; 22 finer. (PCGS # 8515) .
Estimated Value $32,000 - 35,000.

Realized $36,800
