1883 Indian Head Cent. PCGS graded Proof 66 Brown. Nicely toned. It is a huge comfort for us to be able to offer such a precious high quality Proof as this 1883 to dwellers on the other side of the auctioneer's gavel. The coin is fresh, golden to purple brown in hue, and gleams. Increased coinage of 6,609 Proofs this year is accounted for by increased sales of the three different nickel five-cent piece Types. The mint sold "minor sets" of the Proof coins consisting of cent, three-cent, and five-cent. Pop 18; 3 in 67BN. (PCGS # 2336) .
