1871 Two Cents. PCGS graded Proof 66 Brown. First generation holder. The familiar shield design, simple stated elegance by the mint engraver Jame B. Longacre, whose similar shield nickel motif was adopted in 1866. Only 960 proofs minted in 1871. A gem! Pop 1; none better in Proof Brown. (PCGS # 3645) .
