Lot 1746

1805 Draped Bust Quarter Dollar. PCGS graded Browning-1. AU-55. As usual, a trifle soft around the obverse borders. Multicolor from album storage. A beautifully toned, original specimen with richly imbued luster still in evidence, luster that graces the golden brown to antique gray surfaces. Nicely struck for the date, indeed, about as fine as this 1805 issue is found. The stars are flat, including a few of the stars above the eagle as well, but elsewhere the main devices show clear detail that the collector prefers on an early quarter dollar of this period.

B-1 is an elusive die marriage, the reverse is the same as that used to produce the key date 1804 (PCGS # 5313) .
Estimated Value $2,500 - 2,800.
The Victor Kramer Collection.

Realized $4,600
