1876 Twenty Cents. PCGS graded Proof 66. Lovely blue and gold toning. A high degree of vibrant mirror surface spins smoothly around the satin frosted devices on this impeccably preserved twenty-cent piece. Deep golden to purple and blue toning cover the outer surfaces of this flashy and elusive gem. The strike is crisp in most areas, with no sign of weak detail anywhere on the coin. The eagle on this coin may be familiar to collectors who own a Trade dollar since the design is similar, lacking only the scroll and other ornamentation. Both are by the then-Chief Engraver at the mint, William Barber. Only 1,260 Proofs struck. Pop 10; none finer. (PCGS # 5304) .
Estimated Value $10,000 - 12,000.

Realized $11,500
