1852-C $2.50 Liberty. NGC graded MS-61. Well struck and untoned. Considerable mint luster. A splendid specimen, few are finer. Douglas Winter's reference on Charlotte gold coins lists just a single piece at the Mint State level known to him, called "MS-60 to MS-63."

As before, bidders have at their fingertips a coin which amalgamates rarity, historic feeling, and exceptional high grade, the type of Charlotte Mint quarter eagle that only appears on the market once every few years. Only 9,772 minted. Pop 5; 2 in 62. (PCGS # 7764) .
