Lot 963

1850-D $2.50 Liberty. PCGS graded AU-58. Lovely gold toning on both sides with almost sky blue iridescent effect. Nice eye appeal. All devices were struck with the usual sharp consistency of this year by the dies that left elements of the detail very crisp in all places save, perhaps, the eagle's lower extremities. Given the iridescent colors plus this added feature of sharper than average definition, we're able to recommend it to even the most critical buyer of rare date gold. Mintage: 12,148 pieces. Pop 13; 2 in 60; 13 in 61; 1 in 63 (PCGS # 7757) .
Estimated Value $5,500 - 6,000.

Realized $6,699
