Lot 943

1847-C $2.50 Liberty. PCGS graded MS-62. Very well struck with mint luster still visable and only a few of the stars not quite bold. This is an attractive Mint State coin for the grade. Struck from frost-laden dies. Some raised die finish lines can be seen around Liberty's portrait. The 1847-C, while one of the more available Charlotte issues, is a variety that is seen with some frequency at the About Uncirculated level and even in Mint State. Accordingly, the present piece offers an chance for the systematic collector to acquire an attractive specimen in a basic type set, as the value of the coin is in the mid four-figure range. Pop 7; 6 in 63; 6 in 64. (PCGS # 7745) .
Estimated Value $6,000 - 7,000.

Realized $7,475
