Lot 2531

1908-S $10 Indian. With motto. NGC graded MS-65. Lovely rich golden toning. Only 59,850 minted. Pop 11 with 10 finer. There is only one type issued by San Francisco in 1908, all have IN GOD WE TRUST in the field left of the eagle. As a date, 1908-S is considered rare since only 59,850 were struck. Gems are extremely difficult to acquire, in fact, to find any Mint State 65 eagle even the commonest date in this state of preservation is clearly a challenge, let alone a rare date.

A fleeting look will tell all, the surfaces are satiny fresh, a glass is needed to find any infinitesimal tick marks hidden on the feathers. This is certainly one of the freshest, most original toned and desirable 1908-S eagles we've presented in some while. Bidders will want to avail themselves of the opportunity to purchase this distinguished rarity, for it may not be offered again (PCGS # 8861) .
Estimated Value $14,000 - 17,000.

Realized $16,675
