Lot 993

1875-CC $10 Liberty. NGC graded AU-53. With a mintage of only 7,715, here is one of the key dates to the entire gold eagle series or a specialized collection of Carson City mint coinage. This usually weakly struck issue is somewhat above average as the strike is fairly decent, with only a bit of softness above the brow and on the lower portions of the eagle on the reverse. The color is a soft orangy yellow gold having been gently washed at some time in the past. Breen-6981, "prohibitively rare" (above VF). Pop 5, with 2 in 55, 1 in 58, 1 in 60 and 1 in 63 (PCGS # 8673) .
Estimated Value $17,000 - 20,000.

Realized $13,800
