Lot 2706

1925-D $20 St. Gaudens. PCGS graded MS-62. Brilliant deep golden surfaces with fantastic luster and no hairlines. The obverse and reverse have a slightly frosty appearance and only a few tiny tick marks are mentionable, the most noticeable a small vertical tick in the rays above the date and mintmark. A slight amount of strike weakness is seen on the Capitol building. The reverse is strongly lustrous with a sun that is minimally abraded. There is a short diagonal tick just below the TY of TWENTY. The 1925-D is a little more scarce in the higher uncirculated grades, as well as overall rarity, than the 1924-D. This example is fresh and very choice for the grade. PCGS has graded a total of 73 in MS-62 (PCGS # 9181) .
Estimated Value $4,000 - 4,500.
The Michael M. Magdic Collection.

Realized $6,268
