Lot 2596
1908 $20 St. Gaudens. No motto. PCGS graded MS-64. A frosty and near-gem example of this "No Motto" Saint. This example seems very choice for the assigned grade and the cataloguer can really find no reason to not consider this a gem. The dies of the No Motto Saint series were flattened and the result is a coin that always appears yo have a strike weakness (PCGS # 9142) .
