1904 $20 Liberty. PCGS graded MS-66 PQ. While the 1904 Type III double eagle is the most common Liberty double eagle, this superb gem example is a museum-quality specimen of how nice the finest Type III double eagle can appear! The coloration is magnificent, a rich gold hue with an orange and light blue patina in the border regions. Luster shifts across the fields and devices like pulses of silk and frost. For the most quality focused type collector, this is the Type III double eagle you want in your collection. PCGS population of 91 in MS-66 with only 2 in MS-67 as the finest. Housed in an old PCGS green label, fat letter holder (PCGS # 9045) .
Estimated Value $8,000 - 9,000.

Realized $12,650
