Lot 2379

1894-S $10 Gold Liberty. PCGS graded AU-58. A low mintage San Francisco eagle with only 25,000 produced. An issue that is frequently dipped to get lower AU grades into the choice category, the gold collector will appreciate the originality of this choice AU. Original mint frost and luster exist over all surfaces and abrasions and tick marks are kept to a minimum. The 1894-S is similar in rarity to the 1895-S eagle, both issues being rare and underappreciated in mint state. PGCS has graded 7 in AU-58, 4 in MS-60, 3 in MS-61 and 2 in MS-62 as finest. Housed in an old PCGS green label holder (PCGS # 8731) .
Estimated Value $1,000 - 1,100.
The Michael M. Magdic Collection.

Realized $1,323
