1889 $3 Gold. PCGS graded Proof 63 Cameo PQ. Rich and original gold coloration with a delicate orange-peel effect to the mirrored surfaces. Liberty's device remains unscathed cameo against the strongly reflective fields. Aside from light hairlines in the fields, this choice proof is free from any scratches or planchet impairments. Only 129 proofs were made in 1889 and while all proof three dollar gold is rare, the present specimen goes a step further with regards to its unaltered and aesthetic virtues. Population 1 with 6 in 64 Cameo and 2 in 66 Cameo (PCGS # 8053) .
