Mercury Dime. 1942. PCGS graded Proof 68. Deep maroon toning encircles Liberty which is left in a white center. Luster, strike and metal flow are all top notch. Reverse has iridescent toning on the right periphery and a light film over the fields. Mercury dimes were struck in proof from 1936-1942 and the mintage for this year was 22,329. While gem examples are plentiful up to Proof 67, PCGS has graded only 27 Proof 68 example with not a single finer. Therefore, you are bidding on a coin Tied for Finest graded at PCGS! (PCGS # 5077) .
