1851 C-1 R1 MS63+. Lustrous bright mint red fading to light steel brown on the highpoints with at least 75% of the original mint color remaining. A small speck of fine reddish brown carbon in the field left of star 11 is the best identifying mark. There are some microscopic contact marks scattered over the obverse, mostly in the field before the portrait, but none of these marks is visible to the unaided eye. MDS. The repunching right of the base of the second 1 is sharp. Another very impressive 1851 half cent. Estimated Value $1,000 - UP
