Lot 252

1841 N-4 R1. PCGS graded MS-64 Red & Brown. Frosty mellowed red fading to light steel brown on the highpoints. Possibly dipped long ago but the PCGS grade testifies to the excellent eye appeal of this cent. The surfaces are lustrous and there are only a few trivial marks. A small spot of darker toning (not carbon) near the dentils over star 4 and a tiny nick on the rim at star 5 can help identify this cent. E-MDS, die state b. The die lines at the dentil tips under the 4 are dull but clearly visible. Our grade is MS60+. Comes with a very nice provenance. The attribution and Great Pacific Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 1; 1 finer in 66. (PCGS # 403935) Value $1,500 - UP
