1867 Liberty Seated Quarter Dollar. PCGS graded Proof 66. One of the finest seen of this date in Proof. The coining press stopped at 625 pieces for 1867 in proof, many of which were mishandled over the years. PCGS, in their Population Report note only 3 have been graded this high, with none graded higher, making this a candidate for the finest known of the date. Deep gold, blue and gray in color, with pristine fields beneath which show no signs of handling or abuse. Identifiable by a small light toning spot behind the eagle's neck and another in the right wing.
