1845-O Liberty Seated Dime. PCGS graded MS-62. Here is an extremely rare coin in Mint State. In fact PCGS reports on 2 such coins, this one and a MS-69 (!). Although we have no information, we suspect that the MS-69 could possibly be an error of some sort, but you never know, perhaps there is one monster gem dime of this date out there in coin land. Whatever. We do have a downright nice one here too, the devices are well frosted, the fields are even a bit prooflike. There are some scattered handling marks expected for the grade, and we note the strike is quite strong throughout. Identifiable by one tiny stain on the edge below the reverse right ribbon end. Untoned and quite pleasing overall. An important rarity in this grade and worthy of a strong bid.
