1872 $3 Gold. PCGS graded MS-62. A rare date in any grade, with a mintage of a scant 2,000 pieces, this date is seldom encountered. PCGS has graded 8 this high, with only 6 graded higher, giving the collector some indication of how few of these there are. Generally well struck, the fields are prooflike and show minor handling marks and light hairlines. Golden red in color, and a beauty.
