Lot 1316

1853. Arrows. PCGS graded MS-66 PQ. CAC. A frosty, white gem that is fully struck, with a crisp, clear appearance. A great looking type coin with slight rose toning on the reverse. A signifigance to the arrows flanking the date, as they mark the reduction of silver in planchets that were becoming more valuable than the official stated value of ten cents. The proportionate metallic change lessened the weight of the coin by seven percent. This exceptional grade is elusive and should command a commeasurately high bid reflecting its desireability. Pop 39; 3 in 66+; 16 in 67; 3 in 68; 1 in 68+. (PCGS # 4603) Estimate Value $3,000 - 3,300

Realized $3,360
