Goldberg Coins and Collectibles

Sale 100

Lot 1475

1929. PCGS graded MS-63. CAC. PQ. From this date forward all Saint Gaudens double eagles are scarce to rare, and will represent significant challenges for the collector to obtain each of these dates. The 1929 issue was large, coming in at 1,779,750 pieces. From that ample supply, the number of remaining coins is likely in the 350 to 500 pieces range. The balance of this large issue was melted in the 1930s. Thus, finding any example of this date is a chore for most collectors. Here is a solid Choice example that was graded long ago. The strike is sharp and this coin offers strong visual appeal and satiny luster. Very nice coin for the grade. Housed in an Old Green Holder (PCGS # 9190) Estimate Value $25,000 - 27,000

Realized $38,188
