Lot 1131

1854-O. PCGS graded AU-58. Mostly untoned with lots of mint luster evident. The color is classic orange gold with a touch of russet hues in the lettering. The strike is bold for this scarce and popular date. As noted below, only a trio of examples are finer, and not by much, so this New Orleans treasure is a condition rarity not to be missed! An important offering for the $3 gold specialist or New Orleans Mint officiando. Only 24,000 struck. Pop 27; 3 finer, 1 in 58+, 1 in 61, 1 in 62. (PCGS # 7971) Estimate Value $13,000 - 14,000

Realized $15,275
