1878. 7 tail feathers, reverse of 1878. PCGS graded Proof 65 Cameo. Fully white and very choice for this prized gem proof which offers considerable contrast, well frosted devices which seem to float over the mirror fields. First year of issue, and this initial style was quite limited as minor modifications soon appeared mid year in 1878 which revised the reverse design markedly. A prize for the specialist as these were the closest and most true to the original concept designs by Morgan. Only 250 struck. Pop 5; 1 finer in 66. (PCGS # 87312) Estimate Value $30,000 - 35,000
