Lot 900

1857. PCGS graded Proof 65. CAC. PQ. Lovely shades of blue and lavender toning span both the obverse and reverse. The mirror surfaces are amazing, with no signs of handling that often mar these large, heavy coins, especially in proof condition. Not so here, this gem is stunning in every regard. Fully struck and downright rare with a mintage of 50 pieces of which perhaps 40 exist today. This is one of the very finest examples and well within the top 10 for the date known today. Add to this the coveted CAC approval and you have an amazing offering. An exceptional example of this prized rarity in gem condition. Pop 3; 3 finer, 1 in 65 Cameo, 1 in 65+, 1 in 66. (PCGS # 7000) Estimated Value $30,000 - UP
